The player is able to play for the American or Japanese armies in the Pacific, and for the Allies or Germans in Europe. There are four campaigns two of them are on the Pacific islands, and two of them in Europe. I'll still buy your game though, since i'm a sucker for RTS games and support devs that make linux/steamos ports. The game focuses on real events of the World War II. Sorry, but the interface, menu screen, UI look made with console development in mind. Who thought console gamers from PS4 will see this and go out of their way to buy it ?

But i dont get the bussiness decision of putting the most PC oriented genre and the most difficult to adapt for consoles, into playstation. I hope this goes well for you guys especially since you focused on singleplayer which is rare these days for any game, nevermind an RTS where people on steam seem to prefer lifeless skirmishes next to well crafted and designed scenarios. "hey, this particular situation or option here on pc wont go well with a gamepad, lets change it or remove it entirely"

You dont just make a game on PC, everything you do is linked to how it will translate into PS4's gamepad. I understand, but they go hand in hand all the same. The PS4 interface and controls are completely seperate. And there were no changes to the PC interface or controls because of the PS4 version. It must be said though that Sudden Strike 4 was never designed with console as lead. Just look at Halo Wars, feels like a mobile game for mentally challenged people when coming from a PC strategy backgroundĪll i need is a new good C&C game. The compromises needed in gameplay and design are immense. Strategy games gimped for console usage is one of the biggest gaming travesties i can imagine and it is solely responsible for me not paying for this. They dont, if stuff like this has to be made in every game and so much more. People will fire games like this up and think controllers work great, for everything. Shooters are slowed down, weapons lack recoil and punch, enemies miss more and do lower damage, the interactions are restricted, there's auto aim and so on. So games need tons of tricks to enable them playable in such devices. Contrary to popular belief, even though "created for gaming", they're extremely inept tools at everything they do.

Thats how every game, every genre is playable on controllers. When you design every aspect of a game specifically to be possible on a controller, it is. Originally posted by Caelistas:What? How is this even possible for a rts game. There are some glitches connected to controller support that we have been notified of and that will most probably be fixed in one of the upcoming patches. I just gave up and started setting matches up using the mouse. The doctrines and add computer/open/close slot menus pretty much always overlap with each other, making it difficult to add another A.I or change doctrines. The most annoying bug though, is the skirmish mode menus one.

Exiting the mods section doesn't work, you have to hit ESC. Originally posted by Clean:I tried it, and noticed that some of the menus are bugged. I think the part that the usb cable plugs into might be going bad. It could have just been my controller though, cause it has been unresponsive at times lately. I had to use the mouse to get the game to respond to my orders again, then I pressed a button on the controller and it started working. I also experienced the controls completely going out. You end up wasting valuable time because of it. I just gave up and started setting matches up using the mouse.įor in-game stuff, I found the unit select reticule to be too sensitive, When you need to select a certain amount of units, you have to fight the sensitivity to stay at a certain size, so that you don't select unwanted units.
